Anyone now days can jump into the field of IT. All you need it just a computer (or a laptop) and hard-work. The college you study in, will obviously have a CSE Department. And when the companies for the CSE students come, you can appear for the post of SOFTWARE DEVELOPER then. All the best, and chas

For coaching, I'll say that there can be two scenarios:
1.) You have a good internet connection and your mind does not deviate to stuff like Facebook, Instagram that easily: DO NOT OPT FOR COACHING, and learn via internet, There are some good and free courses out there.
2.) Not the above option: YE

In ECE, you also have programming languages like C and C++. Further in your 3rd year you are going to learn assembly languages. During your industrial training also you can learn 2-3 languages. So develop your logical and programming skills and it will help you to become a software engineer. Hope it

Yes, coaching and regular practice will be sufficient to learn a language. You can go for Java or Android.
