Hello,
To become a lecturer in English Literature, you should go for the UGC NET Exam. The National Testing Agency conducts the UGC NET Exam for selecting the deserving candidates for the post of Assistant Professor and for providing Junior Research Fellowship. If you are interested to appear in this exam, then it is essential to know the required eligibility criteria and application process. The exam is conducted for 81 subjects including the English Literature. NTA conducts this exam twice a year (June and December). If you want to appear in this exam, then check it's complete details from the official website. I hope it helps. -
To be an English lecturer, you need to have possed a postgraduate qualification in English. The qualification is enough to teach in private colleges or in government colleges on a temporary basis. However, to get into the permanent position of lecturer, you must pass NET examination. The exam is carried out by UGC.
