How can I become Sub divisional officer or District Magistrate?

    Hi,
    To become a district magistrate, you have to appear for IAS exams. Once you clear UPSC civil service exam with a top rank, you will become an officer of Indian Administrative Services (IAS). IAS officer after one or two promotions becomes DM of a district. You will be promoted automatically to the post of DM. But, it is not possible for you to choose the district. Only you can choose the state while filling Mains form and if you manage to secure very high rank, then there are chances that you can get a state of your choice.
