How can I crack XAT in 1 year?

XAT stands for Xavier’s' Aptitude Test. It is a national level entrance examination conducted by XLRI every year for selecting the most appropriate students for management education. The paper can be split into three parts: concept driven, practice intensive and environment sensitive. Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and selected areas of Verbal and Logical Ability are concept driven. Decision Making and Analytical Reasoning is a purely practice intensive section while General Knowledge is environment sensitive. You have to brace up to handle reasoning based questions requiring strong analytical application. Preparing the decision making section and the essay writing task should enable the XAT test taker to handle the test challenges more confidently. Concept strengthening should be followed by consolidation of application orientation and thereafter by an adequate number of practice tests. While attempting the paper, keep in mind the basics of time management, prioritization and striking a right balance between speed and accuracy.

XAT is easy to crack. 3 months hard work will help you. Xavier's Aptitude Test is one of the exams that all students will try. The syllabus is like this: Language Comprehension Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation Logical Reasoning General Awareness These are the major questions which will be asked for XAT. XAT is completely online exam. The exam is divided in 4 sections with 25 MCQs in each section. Total questions are 100. All questions will carry equal marks in XAT. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks and there will be negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer. So I suggest you to try and attend mock test as much as possible. Some of the tips which I suggest you to clear the exam are as follows: 1. Select one of the best coaching centers which offer quality education- TIME is one of the famous coaching centers for CAT and XAT. 2. Dedication- Be focused on the aim which you need to achieve. 3. Try to read Hindu newspaper editorial. Most of the passages which appear in XAT are from Hindu editorial. 4. Try to do a maximum number of online mock tests. You will definitely clear XAT by doing the above. 5. Try to read as much as you can and make note of points. 6. Revision of each week topics is very important. 7. Mathematical ability questions will be little-twisted try to do as faster as you can. These are my tips for you to crack both XAT and CAT.

Preparation can be of three types: self, self plus coaching, coaching. It depends on whether you are a working professional or a student. So, if you are working you have to prepare either by self-using the correspondence booklets or you can take the option of taking weekend coaching classes. Also, you can buy some famous books used for the preparation of MBA entrance exams. But if you are a student then you have a good amount of time to prepare. So you can use the correspondence course and books initially for self-preparation and later can join coaching classes for brushing up your preparation with added techniques. So, any MBA entrance exam has generally three sections- quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning & data interpretation and verbal reasoning along with the study of general current affairs. So, depending on your strengths, weakness and speed, prepare the three sections accordingly and nail the exam. Note: Focus on writing short essays too along with GK preparation.

Hi, If you are planning for Xavier’s Aptitude Test for PGDM than you have very good scope for PGDM or MBA so I will like to help you for preparation of XAT exam so you are planning for XAT 2019 than start preparing for exam from now the portion is not too hard but it’s not easy also. Portions includes logical reasoning, data interpretation, English and Quant, so in English more questions are based on reading comprehension so start reading newspaper regularly and economies times is best newspaper so daily go throw that newspaper and start solving at list one of passage reading questions at least once in week if you are preparing 1 year before exam this was about English. Quant carries important role in exam so go through this portion. Regularly, most of the questions are based on number system and permutation and combination so have more focus on those topics start solving speed maths question to increase your speed of maths which is main part of quant section. LR and DI section is based on pie charts diagrams graphs and setting arrangement so start preparing for this types of question. There is also one section in XAT exam that is GK so for improving GK start reading current affairs. I would like to suggest you that please don't prepare for one single exam, start preparing for other exams such as NMAT, CAT, IIFT and SNAP.

Make your plan according to the time you can give for the preparation on a daily basis. Work on your plan and identify your weakness and strength. Try to plan and identify above stated things within a week. Set your plan agile and keep buffer time for revision and solving mock test papers. Start with your verbal and quantitative practice in parallel. One year time can make or change the game, time management is very important at every single point of time till the final day and even on the day. Keep positive! Solve questions in a specified time frame this will help you in doing questions in time. Maintain a good balance between your accuracy and solving time. Be focused and calm. For the last month keep all the formulas and tricks handy and revise on a daily basis. Remember not to be emotional while solving or appearing for exam. Manage your time wisely.

Hi, Cracking XAT with 1 year of preparation is not as tough of a job as you think. Below are few of the tips you can refer for your preparation: 1) Analyse your strengths and weaknesses: Analyse your strong as well as weak areas, start with the preparation of your weak areas and focus on making them your strong areas. Begin with the solved examples in the book, then move onto the unsolved examples and finally resort to previous years' XAT papers and monitor your progress. 2) Be thorough with your fundamentals: During the last few days before the exam, the candidates should revise all the basic concepts. Revisions of the fundamentals of each topic are extremely crucial to secure a good score. It will enable you to consolidate your preparation for the exam. You should be confident and well-versed with the application of all your basic concepts. 3) Time versus Target: While preparing your plan of action for the XAT exam, fastidiously implement the concept of "time v/s target" I.e. completing any particular portion of a subject or topic in an assigned time period. Stick to the plan meticulously to secure the desired results. Do not be a procrastinator at any cost! 4) Practice your shortcuts well: Although XAT is traditionally a conceptual exam based on core fundamentals, being conversant with all the shortcuts would help you to solve various problems with greater speed, thus giving you an edge as compared to your competitors. So revise your shortcuts and know them as thoroughly as your fundamentals. All the best!
