Hello,
As per the UGC Norms, to become a lecturer at the university or colleges one must have the post-graduation and NET qualification certificate. The UGC NET is conducted for the determination of the candidates for the assistant professor at the university and JRF awards in research. If you want to be a lecturer, you need to qualify the NET examination. Although you can apply for the teaching in the high school or Diploma colleges. 6 years agoThere are plenty of good jobs for those holding PG in economics in different branches and in different capacities. But, as your interest is academics, I would sincerely advise you to go for Ph.D if possible. You will get handsome stipend, continue your work in academics, and will not then be required to clear NET exam. Best wishes.
