Hi Varsha, As Mr. Sunil suggested to become a cyber security professional you need to through many expertise and experience. Since, I have been security domain for ages I would suggest to get knowledge in IT security first by taking course like CISSP and CEH. In first place you don't need to get certified but at least you must know the areas to be applied when and what. To become a successful cyber security professional it's a wise advise from my end to get experienced in IT infrastructure domain. This would definitely help you to understand Computing, Storage and Network where and which circumstances you apply your IT security knowledge. I am not going into academic since Mr. Soni already explained but it's also fact you don't need to belong science or engineering background to begin with Cyber Security professional. I know many people who have well settled their career with commerce background in graduation. However, in long run when you have got a decent years of experience then you may prepare for CEH certification from EC council, CISSP, SEC etc.

Cyber Security is a niche skill and has limited career opportunities. However, if you able to break into your first job then its is very high paying and respected job. Most of computer hackers have graduation degrees such as B.Tech CSE/IT, BCA-MCA, B.Sc CS. Most of the hackers are those who have excellent programming skills. In addition to any of the above mention qualification, you may obtain professional certification exam to get job in cyber security department in corporate on IT consulting firms. You can appear in professional certification examination to become a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) by appearing in examination conducted by ED-Council. Certification is achieved by taking the CEH examination after having either attended training at an Accredited Training Center (ATC) or completed through self-study. CEH is a skilled professional who understands and knows how to look for weaknesses and vulnerabilities in target systems and uses the same knowledge and tools as a malicious hacker, but in a lawful and legitimate manner to assess the security posture of a target system(s). The CEH credential certifies individuals in the specific network security discipline of Ethical Hacking from a vendor-neutral perspective.
