Admission process
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements must take the Common Admission Test (CAT), which is given by the IIMs. As an alternative, candidates with qualifying scores from the GATE, GRE, GMAT JRF (UGC/CSIR), or UGC-NET exams may also apply in the suitable field of specialty. The results of any of these tests, including the CAT, conducted within the last three years (three years from the date of the standard test and expected to be valid at the time the application is submitted) will be accepted. International candidates, including NRIs and foreign nationals, are eligible to apply to the program.
Students are disqualified from the exam results and may apply directly if they have already finished a two-year, full-time PGP programme at an IIM within the last ten years with a minimum grade point comparable to 6.0 on a 10-point scale or similar (with no "F"s and no more than two "D"s in the first year of PGP). Applications for test exemption will not be accepted if candidates do not include copies of both sides of the grade sheet, which is required to determine whether the grading systems of other IIMs are equal.
The applicants who made the short list based on their academic standing and performance in the previously mentioned competitive exams will be invited to IIM Jammu for a personal interview in May 2020 in order to make the final selection. Those who make the cut will be offered admission by the middle of May 2020.
Applicants who receive an admission offer from IIM Jammu and accept it within the time limit specified must submit an Offer Acceptance Form along with a commitment fee of Rs. 36,000 (the submission date will be specified in the admission offer letter). The commitment fee will be deducted from the first installment amount.
In the event that a candidate decides to withdraw the offer within the withdrawal window indicated in the offer letter, the offer acceptance amount will be reimbursed, less a processing fee of Rs. 1000. In the case that an applicant withdraws from the programme after registering and that another candidate fills the resulting vacancy by the deadline for admission, IIM Jammu will pay the money received, less any applicable fees and hostel rent.
The program's registration and launch are scheduled for the first week of July 2020.
