    NIELIT Itanagar selects candidates for most of the courses based on their merit in the last qualifying exam. The institute conducts an entrance exam for admission to long term courses. The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology Exam, or NIELIT Exam, is conducted at the national level for admission to 'O' (Foundation Level), 'A' (Advanced Diploma), 'B' (MCA Equivalent), and 'C' (MTech Level in Computer Science and Engineering) courses in online mode.
