IGNOU courses teach you self study and discipline, which is demand in programming, in engineering college no teachers are updated with new technologies, its better for you do self study rather being unemployed like other fresh engineering graduates.
When I was pursuingMCA from IGNOU, thenI was teaching as well, by doing job along with degree from distance only worth. Try to do job with yourrelevant field would added weight in your degree.
Try to follow following hard core rules while pursuing MCA from IGNOU -
Submit your Assignments/projects on time.
Appear each term end semester exam(mostly students avoid it on time).

For January 2019 session, admission may be start on the first week of October and admission will continue till January 31st, 2019 without late fee. You can check regularly IGNOU - The People's University website for further details relating to admission.

The basic objective of the BCA programme is to open a channel of admission for computing courses for students, who have done the 10+2 and are interested in taking computing/IT as a career. After acquiring the Bachelors Degree (BCA) at IGNOU, there is further educational opportunity to go for an MCA at IGNOU or Masters Programme at any other University/Institute. Also after completing BCA Programme, a student should be able to get entry level job in the field of Information Technology or ITES.
