Government Polytechnic, Palamu has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:

| After 10th Diploma | Candidate must have passed 10th standard or equivalent examination. Candidate awaiting result of 10th standard or equivalent examinaton can also apply on provisional basis. Candidate must be permanent resident or comes under permanent resident of Jharkhand. There is no minimum age requirement. |
