PSG College of Arts and Science - PSGCAS has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:
Courses Eligibility M.Phil Candidates having a minimum of 55% marks and above in the Master's degree and working as Full- time Research Fellows / Technical Assistants / Research Assistants in time-bound research schemes of one year duration or more in the University Departments / Research Departments of Affiliated Colleges / Research Institutions approved by the University shall be eligible to pursue the course leading to M.Phil., Degree.A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade may be allowed for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time and for the candidates who had obtained their Master's degree prior to September 19, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks Ph.D. The candidates should have passed a post-graduate degree course either with SSLC + HSC + UG + PG (i.e., 10 + 2 + 3 + 2) or with 11-years SSLC + PUC + UG + PG (i.e., 11 + 1 + 3 + 2) or with 10-years SSLC + 3 years Diploma + 2 years UG degree + 2 years PG (i.e., 10 + 3 + 2 + 2) or with 10 years SSLC + HSC + 4 years UG degree and 1 year PG degree (i.e., 10 + 2 + 4 + 1). Thus, only the candidates possessing a PG degree with 17 years of total duration of study alone are eligiblefor admission to the Ph.D., programme.The candidates possessing professional degrees such as M.E., and M.Tech., and PG degree in Medicine, Law, Agriculture and similar other professional courses are not eligible for admission to the Ph.D., programs of the University. B.Com Candidate must have passed 10+2 with Commerce and Accountancy from a recognised board. B.Sc. Candidate must have passed 10+2 from any recognised board. BBA Candidate must have passed in Higher Secondary examination or equivalent with commerce and Accountancy from any Board/Council recognised by the University B.A. Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised school/board. BCA Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised school/board. M.Sc. Candidate must have completed graduation from a recognised university. M.J.M.C. Candidate must have completed graduation from a recognised university
