Firstly, aspirants must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria for PhD at Annamalai University. Further, the selection is based on a PG entrance test conducted by the university followed by an interview round. The weightage of the entrance exam is 70 and for the interview is 30. The candidates who score 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD) in the exam and interview round become eligible for admission. Candidates with an MPhil degree from an approved university or UGC-JRF/ NET/ SLET/ SET/ GATE/ CSIR/ ICHR/ ICPR/ ICSSR-qualified candidates and teacher fellowship are exempted from the entrance test.
