Australia issues Subclass 500 visa to grant permission to international students to study in Australia. This is a temporary visa to study up to 5 years. The type of course and its length will determine the length of stay. Below is given the checklist to get a student visa for Australia.
- apply online in or outside Australia
- be enrolled in a course of study in Australia
- hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), or fall in one of the exemption categories
- prove you have a welfare arrangement, if you are under 18
