How can I join defence services after completing class 12th?

Commission officers job in India Defence Services is one of the best job. It is the only Government job after 2004 where there is Pension and medical facility for life time for self and family. If you compare life time earning of any Defence Officer, it will beat any corporate job except for few CXO level jobs. However, to get selected as Defence Services officer is difficult because cadidates are judged for Officer like qualities (OLQs). OLQs are qualities that a candidate must have to get commission in Armed Forces. During SSB candidates are evaluated on following OLQs: Effective Intelligence, Reasoning Ability, Power of Expression, Self Confidence, Determination, Organizing Ability, Initiative, Courage, Cooperation, Sense of Responsibility, Stamina, Group Influencing Ability, Liveliness, Social Adaptability and Speed of Decision. Some of the OLQs qualities can be gained with our day to day experiences and learning. You can develop these qualities by participating in sports and extracurricular activities, working with NGOs on community initiatives, student forums in school and colleges. You are advised to appear for NDA entrance examination conducted by UPSC twice a year. National Defence Academy Tis an iconic institution and hallmark of global excellence in the sphere of military education. It is located in Khadakwasla, Pune, Maharashtra. Educational eligibility criteria for appearing in NDA examinations is as follows: (a)Army Wing of National Defence Academy: Candidates applying for Indian Army must have passed class 12/HSC in 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University (b)Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy of National Defence Academy: Candidates applying for Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy must have passed class 12/HSC in 10+2 pattern of School Education with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University. On successful completion of the three-year course at NDA, Army cadets proceed to Indian Military Academy at Dehradun, Naval cadets to Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala and Air Force cadets to the Air Force Academy at Hyderabad. After completion of one year of training at their respective academies, they are commissioned as Officers into respective services.

Hello dear, Defense Forces jobs are about good disciplined .Everything is provided for you, but one cannot expect higher remuneration for having done a better job than others (you get a promotion when you are capable of taking higher responsibility). Facilities provided are much better than the corporate sector, including subsidized facilities, to ensure a happy and healthy life for the person and his / her family. There is high job security, as long as one is not committing blunders or indulging in treason. The ultimate risk is to life and limb in a time of conflict. So, I thinks it is a better career option for you, but it depends upon how you thinks about your "career" and beyond.
