How can I join Indian Air Force after completing class 12th?

Hello Shikhar, You can join Indian Air Force or Navy after passing 12th. For this, you may apply for NDA (National Defense Service). The NDA examination is conducted by UPSC twice in a year to recruit the candidates in Army, Navy & Air Force. NDA Eligibility Criteria: 1. Nationality: A candidates must be either (a) Indian (b) Nepal (c) Bhutan (d)A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (e)A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. 2. Age: Age between 16.5 to 19 years 3. Sex: only unmarried male candidates are eligible. No female 4. Educational Qualification: (I) For Army wing of NDA 12th class pass of the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University. (ii) For Air Force & Naval wing of NDA. A candidate must have passed 10+2 educational level with Physics & Mathematics subject. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th class under the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent can also apply. 5. Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defense Academy and Naval Academy. (a) The candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease/disability which is likely in interfere with the efficient performance of military duties. (b) There should be no evidence of weak constitution, bodily defects or underweight. The candidate should not be overweight or obese. (c) The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air Force). .

After completing your class 12th, you should appear in the National Defense Academy examination conducted twice a year, by UPSC if you get selected you could opt for Air Force, but to remember an air force cadet in Indian Air force through NDA gets flying branch only. All the best.
