Dear Varun, LPU is a premier university of India with top placements and world class infrastructure. LPU has more than 200 courses and every course has certain eligibility criteria to be fulfilled by a candidate get admission. For admission in B Tech. ECE, a candidate must have 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths) or equivalent . Here I want to update you. In order to be admitted via lateral entry to Lovely Professional University (LPU), you must fulfil certain requirements and adhere to the university's admissions procedure. If diploma holders want to start the second year of a B.Tech or other related undergraduate degree right away, they can usually do so through lateral entrance.

My friend is also studying BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Lateral Entry) at LPU. He shared with me the eligibility to get admission in this programme that I am sharing with you as well.
You should have passed with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (Engg.) (any stream) 3 years after 10th Or 2 years after 10+2 (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Computer Science) or equivalent.
There are some facts that you would also like about the School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering in LPU.
Placements: LPU has a good placement record for ECE students. Every year more than 500+ companies including national and multinational companies visit LPU for placement. A few of them are BOSCH, Microsoft, Code Nation, Adobe, etc. in which students of ECE are placed. The highest package offered for the ECE programme at LPU is 31 LPA and the average package is 5.1 LPA.
Faculty: All faculty members are well qualified from IITs, NITs, and top-ranked universities all over the world.
Hands-on Practical: Students who study ECE from LPU get an opportunity to do practical work in their field more than theoretical as LPU has Robotics and Automation lab, Bosch Lab, and other workshops conducted by this department such as Robotics workshop, Labview workshop, and many more.

Yes definitely you can opt for higher education post your diploma course subject to your domain. Lateral entry means the admission will be directly in the 2 year of the course program you have chosen. You do not have to take admission in 1 year you will be directed to 2 year of any undergraduate program. Basically, for admission in lateral entry, some criteria must be fulfilled by the candidate. For admissions, 2020, the admissions are being done online and the eligibility criteria to seek admission in B.Tech (lateral entry) is Pass with 60% in Diploma (Engg.) (any stream) (3yrs. after 10th or 2 yrs after 10+2(Non-Medical)) or B.Sc (Non-medical)/ B.Sc(Computer Science) or equivalent.

You have a very good percentage and yes you can take admission in lateral entry program in LPU. Please follow the steps for admission in LPU:
Step 1 - Signup
Register onto LPUs admission portal with basic details (Name, Email ID, Mobile No., State, Gender and Password). Your email id will act as your username for the portal and password will be set by you while registering on the portal.
You will get a mail on your registered email id regarding this.
Login to the LPUs admission portal with already created username/ password.
STEP 2 - Apply for LPUNEST (Entrance and Scholarship Test)
LPUNEST is an online test which acts as a gateway to programme you are interested in. Admission in this programme is done based on performance in LPUNEST. In addition, LPUNEST also act as Scholarship test and student can avail huge scholarship based on performance in this test.
Deposit the test fee:
Cost of Application form and Soft copy of LPUNEST Kit is 800 (for Boys) and 500 (for Girls).
Cost of Application form and Printed LPUNEST Kit is 1000 (for Boys) and 700 (for Girls).
Fill the test application form.
STEP 3 - Book the Exam Slot and Appear
Book the slot (preferred date, time and venue) to appear in the test.
This test would be conducted in more than 200 cities pan India.
Download the hall ticket.
Appear and qualify the test.

Get your scorecard/ rank.
Fill the seat preference.
