Hi Yashi, The UPSC is one of the most enriching and challenging journeys. This exam is rightly called a "marathon, " as it takes almost one year to prepare and another one year to appear in the exam. One mistake at any stage, and you will have to start all over again. As a result, you must accept that the success rate for this exam is only 0.01 percent. You are not an average student, as you have graduated from one of the preeminent universities, DU. Most students aspire to get into Delhi University for graduation. To make this journey a baptismal life journey, you need to have a plan B. There is nothing wrong with that. Plan B could be to pursue a master's degree from IGNOU in your optional subject. The IGNOU content will help you in the optional papers of the UPSC Mains, and your degree can make you eligible to apply for a fellowship, a NET, or other jobs. You should concentrate on understanding the concepts in the syllabus because it will help you in other exams as well. For example, if you did well on the CSAT, you can apply for the banking exams. You can take state PSC exams if you are studying GS well. As a UPSC aspirant, you have to study everything under the sun, and you can benefit from it by preparing your knowledge for future opportunities.
