How can I prepare for IAS? I am a student of class 12th with PCM.

Hi, The civil services examination is a nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various civil services of the Government of India, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) among others. The examination consists of the following three stages: Stage I: Preliminary examination - A qualifying test advertisied in Feb-March and held in June-July each year. Results are published in mid-August. Stage II: Main examination - Held in October every year. Results are usually published in the second week of March. Stage III: Personality Test (interview) - held in December each year. Final results are usually announced in May . The training programme for the selected candidates usually commences the following September. Eligibility : 1) Must be a citizen of India. 2) Atleast a graduate from any stream from any central, state or deemed university in India. 3) A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on August 1 of the year of examination. Number of attempts for general category candidates = 6 , OBC category candidates = 9, SC/ST candidates = unlimited attempts till 37 years of age. Now, that you still have 3 years to graduate - so prepare from now. All the best.
