    The exam is considered as one of the most difficult competitive examination as every year lacs of students write JEE Main and only 2.2 lac aspirants shall be eligible to write JEE Advanced which is only a fraction of the total students taking the exam. Out of these, 10,000 to 12,000 finally get selected that is less than 1% of the total numbers. About 0.8% of the total students appearing for the JEE are able to get through to the IITs. No, candidates need not pay any fees to participate in JEE Adv counselling. However, once the seat is allotted, candidates will need to pay approximately INR 35,000 (less for reserved category) as a seat acceptance fee and around INR 20,000 as partial admission fees. Both these payments are adjusted in the final fee payment of college.

To participate in JEE Advanced counselling, candidates must keep the following documents ready.

  • JoSAA Seat Allotment Letter
  • Admit card of JEE Advanced 2026
  • Proof of Date of Birth Class 12/HSC/Birth Certificate/Any other certificate as proof of date of birth
  • Photo ID card
  • Class 12/SSC/Equivalent exam Mark sheet and Certificate of passing
  • Proof of seat acceptance fee payment
  • Two passport-sized photographs
  • Category Certificate (OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/PwD/DS) issued by the competent authority
  • Duly filled Medical Examination Report
  • For foreign nationals: Attested photocopy of the page in the passport containing name, photo and nationality

No, candidates have to carry the printout of their JEE Advanced admit card downloaded from the website to appear in the exam. Soft copies will not be accepted.
