Hi Go through the ncert books first from class 6th to 12th as they are good for basic knowledge of the subjects then move to higher books.

They also help in CBSE exams but no one give a try. They have everything. I studied social Science through ncert books in school too.

Understand the UPSC pattern and procedure first. Go through the UPSC syllabus thoroughly. Start reading a few books and watch video lectures online for a few basic subjects like polity, history, geography, etc. Read the newspaper regularly.

Be focused on top subjects from where questions are mostly asked. Good hands on current affairs, read editorials, select 2 or 3 competitive online books, check interview questions and answers provided by students on the internet.
