NIT Uttarakhand offers a four-year BTech, and a two-year MTech programme at the UG and PG levels, respectively. The programmes are offered in five specialisations: Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronic & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. For admission to its BTech programme, NIT Uttarakhand accepts JEE Main scores, whereas for admission to its MTech programme, the institute accepts GATE scores. NIT Uttarakhand was established in 2009 as one of India's ten new National Institutes of Technology. It is designated as a Nationally Significant Institute. Candidates for B.Tech admissions must take the JEE Main test and participate in the JoSAA counseling for final seat allocations.Obtain at least 75% in Class XII.
