Nursing is a profession in high demand worldwide. Healthcare needs are continually growing, and nurses play a crucial role in providing patient care. The admissions are based on entrance exams conducted by the state government. The course includes subjects like Medical Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery, Gynecological Nursing etc. Both theory and practical are part of the course and  Diploma in nursing is a one-year training programme that may be completed after passing class 12 examinations and is a year shorter than a bachelor's degree in nursing.
