How can one become an investment banker? I had PCM subject combination.

<p>Two ways to go about it. Long scenic route. Short to the point route.</p><p>The long scenic Route is pursuing MBA&nbsp; which is a time sink but provides you knowledge over many different things.</p><p>Short route is focusing on exactly those trends/ subjects pertaining to investment banking by pursuing a short term course that targets everything you want to know about the subject matter .</p><p>Even after that what should be taken into consideration is the guidance/ assistance to push you into the banking field. It's a very competitive field.&nbsp;</p><p>So my advice if you do pursue investment banking irrespective of your stream you need to go for a course/ institute that can gauarantee you opportunities to get on to the field.</p><p>Off the top of my head IIM Skills' Investment Banking Course is gaining popularity. They seem to be very up to date and have only heard good things about their faculty and guidance! Hope this helps!&nbsp;</p>

Most of Investment Bankers are MBA from top B Schools such as IIM Ahmedabad, Calcutta etc. Some banks also recruit prospective Investment Bankers from IIT. If you want to be an Investment Banker you have to develop excellent number crunching ability.
