How different is it to study in a college that is in a remote location as compared to studying from a college in a big city?

It does not matters lot as many college built their campus in remote area because they can't get such a big size of land is not available in city. This does not matters a lot as BITS Pilani is one of the best college of India and this college is located in Pilani which is an small village of Rajasthan but for joining BITS student never think about remote or urban city. In fact, establishing a college in remote size has lot of benefit such as there is less disturbances, less crowd, nice environment which is not available in urban city.

Difference between studying in a college located in a remote location with a big city is as follows:
(I) Advantages
(a) No external disturbances to the academic environment.
(b) No wastage of time.
(c) Better support for teaching faculty.
(d) More opportunities for personality development as students do not waste time and can use .university resources and infrastructure.
(e) Better friendship opportunities and development of good network.
(II) Disadvantages:
(a) Difficulties and challenges in travel.
(b) Some time remote colleges face challenges of attracting good faculty and students.

I think, Now we live in an era where we can get all the study related stuff online. Many digital libraries by different universities and National Knowledge Network shall provide you with all the facilities.
The differences you may feel are following:
1: Academically: For the academics, you won't face any problems. Most teaching is done inside campus only. You have NPTL and other online resources to fulfill our academic needs.
