How do I become eligible to get into MIT if I am a student from an average college in India?

<p>As it is widely known, MIT is <strong>one of the most competitive institutes</strong> in the world to get into. Hence, in order to strengthen their applications, students must follow the tips listed below:</p><ul><li>Score 1550 or higher in <a href="https://www.shiksha.com/studyabroad/exams/sat">SAT</a> or 34 or higher in the <a href="https://www.shiksha.com/studyabroad/exams/act">ACT</a>;</li><li>In case a student is a national Olympiad winner then they can get into MIT, since the admissions committee prioritizes students with brilliant sports achievements;</li><li>In case a student is a national or state winner, they have a chance of getting into MIT;</li><li>Candidates must show a major interest in the course that they are aiming to pursue</li><li>Maintain a good relation with the teachers as they can be helpful in providing the <a href="https://www.shiksha.com/studyabroad/lor-recommendation-letter-applycontent2702">letters of recommendations</a> (LOR);</li><li>Do a lot of social work and volunteering;</li><li>Try to write a good essay;</li><li>Extracurriculars should be filled with positive aspects showing good nature and character.</li></ul><p><strong>Some of the other factors that will be considered at the time of admissions are:</strong> what makes the applicant different, what change they will bring in their life once admitted in the institute, what profit MIT will have in admitting them, and more.</p>
