How do I get a summer internship in IISc Bangalore?

IISc Bangalore offers internships to students currently in their second or third year of undergraduate studies every year through their Summer Research Fellowship Programme (SRFP). Application process: 1- The application form will be available on the official website of IISc Bangalore. 2- The deadline to submit an application is usually around the end of November. 3- The names of the selected candidates start appearing on the official website around the end of February. 4- The internship begins around the may end or starting week of June and is for 2 months. 5- IISc Bangalore, previously allowed applicants to choose the projects and mentors they would like to work under, but this has been stopped this year. 6- You can also email the professor you would like to work under directly to seek out any available internship opportunities. If you did not get an internship program in IISc Bangalore there are some other options where you can apply directly for the summer internship program. 1- Diesel Locomotive Works. 2- Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. 3- National Thermal Power Corporation Limited. 4- Hindustan Computers Limited. Choose a professor whose work at IISc Bangalore resonates with your interests and ambitions and send her a research proposal along with a statement of purpose, where you can mention your availability along with your research interests and how they fit into the professors area of expertise. You would also be required to submit at least one letter of recommendation from your college professors. The duration for these IISc internships depends on your agreement with your guiding professor. These internships may be open to an extension at the professors discretion.
