    Engineering graduates in streams like Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering ECE and Civil Engineering can try for the job profile of IES Officer Selection of suitable candidates to the position is done via a written test and personality test conducted by UPSC Written test include questions on general studies general English and the concerned engineering subject
    Engineering degree from any of the recognised University is the basic qualification required It is desirable to obtain the necessary qualification in any of the following disciplines
    Electrical Engineering
    Electronics Communications Engineering
    Civil Engineering

    You must sit for the UPSC's IES exam in order to join the Indian Economic Service. To join the Indian Economic Service, the process you need to follow is as follows:
    1. You need to apply online on the official website of the UPSC after the release of the notification.
    2. Your age must be between 21 and 30 years old to apply for IES.
    3. You need to have a post-graduate degree in economics, applied economics, or a degree related to economics from a recognised university.
    4. The exam will be conducted in two stages: a written and a viva-voce.
    5. There are six papers in the IES written stage of three hours' duration.
