How do I know if I am qualified for appearing in JEE Advanced exam?

There are two main criteria to qualify for appearing in JEE Advanced exam:
1. Qualifying Percentile/Marks in JEE Main:
- You must have secured a qualifying percentile score in the JEE Main exam (Paper 1).
- Here's a general breakdown (cut-off percentiles are subject to change slightly each year):
- General: 40.5%
- GEN-EWS: 10%
- OBC-NCL: 27%
- SC: 15%
- ST: 7.5%
- PwD: 5% (horizontal reservation)
OR
- Candidate must be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in the JEE Main exam (BE/BTech paper).
2. Class 12 (or equivalent) Examination Appearance:

JEE Main 2024 scores: Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in BE/BTech Paper of JEE (Main) 2024.
Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1999. Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, i.e. these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1994.
Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination: Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2023 or 2024 are eligible for JEE Advanced 2024.

Candidates need to check the JEE Main cutoff mentioned on their JEE Main result/scorecard and see whether they have obtained aggregate percentile score equal to or above the cutoff. JEE Main cutoff is different for all categories. Candidates can check category-wise JEE Main cutoff on the Shiksha page as well as in their scorecard. Only those candidates who have score equal to or above then the cutoff are allowed to appear in JEE Advanced exam.
