How do I know if I am qualified for appearing in JEE Advanced exam?

<p>There are two main criteria to qualify for appearing in JEE Advanced exam:</p><p>1. Qualifying Percentile/Marks in JEE Main:</p><ul><li>You must have secured a qualifying percentile score in the JEE Main exam (Paper 1).</li><li>Here's a general breakdown (cut-off percentiles are subject to change slightly each year):</li><ul><li>General: 40.5%</li><li>GEN-EWS: 10%</li><li>OBC-NCL: 27%</li><li>SC: 15%</li><li>ST: 7.5%</li><li>PwD: 5% (horizontal reservation)</li></ul></ul><p>OR</p><ul><li>Candidate must be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in the JEE Main exam (BE/BTech paper).</li></ul><p>2. Class 12 (or equivalent) Examination Appearance:</p><ul><li>You should have appeared for the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2023 or 2024 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.</li><li>There are some exceptions for candidates who appeared in 2022 or earlier:</li><ul><li>If your board declared the results for the 2021-22 academic year on or after September 21, 2022, you might be eligible.</li><li>However, if the results were declared before September 21, 2022, and your result was withheld for any reason, you won't be eligible.</li></ul></ul>

<p>The candidates can check their eligibility for appearing in JEE Advanced 2024 below.</p><p>JEE Main 2024 scores: Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in BE/BTech Paper of JEE (Main) 2024.</p><p>Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1999. Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, i.e. these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1994.</p><p>Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination: Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2023 or 2024 are eligible for JEE Advanced 2024.</p><p>Candidates who had appeared in Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2022 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024, irrespective of the combination of subjects attempted/offered.</p>

<p>Candidates need to check the JEE Main cutoff mentioned on their JEE Main result/scorecard and see whether they have obtained aggregate percentile score equal to or above the cutoff. JEE Main cutoff is different for all categories. Candidates can check category-wise JEE Main cutoff on the Shiksha page as well as in their scorecard. Only those candidates who have score equal to or above then the cutoff are allowed to appear in JEE Advanced exam. Admission in IITs is though JEE Advanced while NITs, IIITs and GFTIs offer admission based on JEE Mains rank. The JEE Main cutoff for JEE Advanvced is released with the JEE Main final scorecard after the exam for both sessions are over.</p>
