    Normally, preparing for the CDS takes six months, but with the right strategy, you can pass it in just three. Following tips may help your prepare for CDS (OTA) in three months
    1. To assist you in selecting your study materials, read about the exam syllabus and pattern.
    2. There is no math paper for OTA, so you can devote the first two months to studying English and GK.
    3. For the GK exam, the NCERT books are sufficient, but you may also use Manorama or Arihant as a source of information.
    4. You can use the grammar book by Wren and Martin or another author to study for the English paper.

    Understand The Syllabus And Exam Format. Examine the exam syllabus and exam pattern if you want to pass the CDS exam. Practice Mock Exams And Previous Year Papers. Keep The Basics Clear. Concentrate On Important Issues. Start With Simpler Questions. Create A Proper Schedule.

Yes. In the CDS exam there is a negative marking. One-third mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer. No mark will be deducted for unanswered questions.

Yes, the CDS 2 application last date to apply was extended to June 20 from June 17, 2025. A one-time extension was provided by the commission. The application correction window was opened from July 7 to July 9, 2025.
