    In the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), candidates who belong to reserved categories and have qualified the Joint Entrance Examination JEE Advanced but have not secured a rank high enough to get admission in the regular course, are eligible for admission through the preparatory course (PC) programme. The preparatory course programme is designed to bring these students up to the level of the regular course students, so that they can succeed in their studies.
