They check how you perform in:

Projects and presentations – How well you explain ideas and work in real business cases.
Internships – How you behave in a company, how serious and professional you are.

From my experience at GIBS, the biggest difference is the practical exposure. There are projects, industry sessions, presentations and activities along with regular academics.
CPMP and IRE give students extra exposure that goes beyond the normal syllabus. CPMP especially helped me with communication,
