How does lateral B.Tech admission work? Do I need to pass Diploma or B.Tech 1st year?

For getting admission in lateral entry, you must first qualify Diploma with minimum 60%, or you must have B.Sc degree. Only then, you are applicable for admission in lateral entry.

You have to pass Diploma and then you can get direct entry in second year of B.Tech as lateral entry. Good luck.

Hello Khan, First and foremost, you have to pass Diploma to be eligible for lateral admission into 2nd year of B.Tech. Each state has it's own rules. Some give admissions based on marks of 12th, while others give through CET. Information is available on webpage of DTE of your state.
