Upon completion of the MBBS program, doctors can pursue their postgraduate programs, such as an MD (Doctor of Medicine) or MS (Master of Surgery) in certain specific fields. Admissions for postgraduate programs generally require eligible candidates who can sit for certain entrance exams such as NEET-PG in India.
Doctor's specialization can also occur through diplomas, fellowships, and super-specialty courses (DM/MCh) for certain areas for highly specialized areas such as Cardiology, Neurosurgery, or Oncology.
