How does state rank matter in AIEEE counseling?

The meaning of state rank arise only when there is a state reservation in college like in NIT's and state counseling for example.....if your state has any NIT then 50% of it's seat will be reserved for it's state student only and rest are for other states by state rank you can only have the idea of

see if your AIR rank is 40000(say) then you can expect your state rank to be near 4000-13000 depending on other factors.generally the state cut off rank is 6500-7000 so u can expect to get seat in nit's if your rank is below 40000 and there is an NIT in ur state.
