Hello! SIBM Pune is definitely better than all the new IIMs in terms of the rankings, placements, brand name, infrastructure, etc. So, yes, it is worth leaving a newer IIM for SIBM.

Yes, SIBM is one of the top colleges for MBA in India. Even a lot of IIMs rank below SIBM, Pune so if you do not get admission in famous IIMs like A, B or C then you can definitely go for SIBM.

    Hi Reshma,
IIMs are definitely a good choice for MBA. SIBM, Pune being a premier B-School is definitely worth considering if you are looking for IIM alternatives.

SIBM, Pune is at par with IIM Lucknow, Kozhikode, Indore in the tier 1 bracket and with IIM Shillong, Rohtak, Ranchi, Udaipur, Raipur in the tier 2 bracket. SIBM Pune has better brand equity than some of the tier 3 IIMs and have good placements especially in HR and Marketing. SIBM, Pune closely competes with Narsee Monjee and MDI. So you can leave out some of the tier 2 IIMs and the complete list of tier 3 IIMs for SIBM, Pune.

No, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management does not have the provison of direct admission. Candidates seeking admission must register for the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) for the MBA course. Based on the marks secured in SNAP, the institute will release a merit list of selected students to appear for the next round. Shortlisted candidates must appear for PI.
