How good is the B.Sc. In economics placement at LPU?

One of my cousin took admission in B.Sc ( Hons) Economics highlighted that it is a mixture of conventional economics courses and modern day analytical tools. There are key points which are worth to be highlighted: 1. Capable of opening new opportunities especially for the students who wish to pursue a higher degree in the field of economics as it includes the subjects of economics starting from basics to the advanced one including the course on econometrics which is high in demand. 2. Education is imparted under semester system and or improved learning, emphasis is laid on Seminars and Case Based Teaching. 3.Now-a-days, the knowledge of statistical tools and its applicability is a highly required by big industries. This demand is fully kept in the mind when curriculum for the programme is designed. LPU provides the students with the following options: a. Core and Elective Courses b. Economics is applicable in wide range of fields, including business, finance, administration, law, local and national government and indeed, most aspects of everyday life. A master degree in Economics strengthens students knowledge of economic theory and improves their skills in applying the theory to economic problems. Graduates are qualified to conduct their own research, either individually or as members of government or business teams. They are also prepared to write policy analysis articles. Being alumni of LPU, I can share information regarding admission criteria at LPU for M.A. In economics and highlights of the course. 1. The objective of the course is to give the student grounding in modern industrial organisation analysis, including an understanding of both empirical and theoretical methods and some policy issues. 2. The students are encouraged to undertake assignments/project work from the industry and work on finding possible solutions to integrate their theoretical knowledge with industrial practices. Application oriented assignments and projects based upon databases like CAPITALINE, online library database PROQUEST and JSTOR are undertaken to sharpen research and analytical skills. In addition to the regular course work, specially designed workshop courses like Workshop on data analysis using statistical software are offered to M.Sc. (Hons. ). Economics students to promote practical implication of various courses which train students for research and other fields. Active participation of students in various clubs like Markophiles, Finance, Odisha Club, Operations & IT, Strategy, Commerce, Economics, Society for Management Learning (Student organisation), etc. Is encouraged to expose them to broader competitions.
