    In terms of placement both the branches are equal. But being in CS you will get good grades as compared to mechanical branch.Faculties are better in mechanical engineering(that's my point of view) and are often concerned about conducting various workshops/seminars for students.Afterall it's based on your interest what you want to do.Also there is not much difference in mechanical and CS cutoffs.
