Primarily, the process is based on Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA), and the candidates are ranked according to their marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from the 12th standard board exams.

    Admission to the Government College of Technology (GCT) in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu is based on the results of the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) exam:

    To apply, you must fill out an application on the official TNEA website.

    The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Technical Education conducts the TNEA exam. 

    GCT has maintained good ranks over the years and was ranked #201-300 in the 'Engineering' category by the NIRF ranking 2024.
