HI Garvit,
Like any other star rating, also the seven star hotels are rated on basis of the quality of the food, accommodation, customer service etc.Although their is quite a similarity in the 5 star and 7 star hotels however the 7 star generally have the royalty quotient that gives them the edge over. For a 7 Star hotel would have a rolls Royce limousine pick. There are not many seven star hotels. Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai is said to be a seven star. Burj is the tallest hotel with all suites and super luxuries. Five star deluxe is the top most gradation done by FHRA/ HRACC in India. I have heard lot of people saying that they have learnt about 7 star hotel. I have heard about 1 star to 5 star, but have never heard anyone talking about a 6 star hotel. Then, how is that a jump in star category? Is it reality? I have spoken to an official in HRACC and have learnt that it is a myth. There is no categorization of anything beyond 5 star deluxe as far as India is concerned. And, I believe that 7 star category is a myth which people like to associate with ultimate luxury offered by the top class hotels.
