How is an integrated LLB different from a regular LLB, which one should I prefer?

BA LLB is an integrated 5-year graduation course in law that offers a combined degree (BA and LLB). Admission to an integrated course opens after class 12th. National law Universities in India are known to be the best institutions for pursuing an integrated BA LLB course. Please note that apart from BA, students can choose other integrated degrees as well, I. e. B.Com LLB, B.Sc LLB, etc. Admission to 5-year law colleges is done on the basis of entrance tests conducted in the month of May. CLAT is the common entrance test for securing admission in the NLU's and some other colleges also use the same score to grant admission. Private universities, like Amity and Jindal, etc. , have their own entrance exams and admission is granted on the basis of marks scored in them. Sitting for the respective tests and getting marks is a prerequisite for getting admission. LLB, on the other hand, is a post-graduation 3-year course to be pursued after one had completed their graduation. Several colleges in India have the option of a post-graduate in law. The National Law Universities, however, do not have that option. Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, is one of the most reputed colleges to pursue law after graduation. Your choice of subject in graduation DO NOT have a bearing on your admission to a 3-year law college. Most admissions are given on merit, decided by conducting an entrance test usually in the months of May and June every year

HOW TO DECIDE WHICH ONE IS FOR YOU: If law is your first option for studies after school, you should definitely try to crack CLAT and aim for one of the top national universities. The 5-year training in law provided by these institutions is rigorous and thorough (even though in the first few years, general subjects like Indian polity and economics are also taught). A combined degree may be a BA LLB or a B.Sc LLB, depending on your choice of institution and the courses provided by them. Having an NLU on your CV helps you a long way in establishing a career in law. However, even if one does not make it to an NLU, not all is lost. hard-work and perseverance usually determine the course of your career, irrespective of your alma mater. However, if you are unsure about taking up law, it is advisable to go for a graduation in your preferred field. The good part is that after the end of three years (or four, or five, depending on your choice of subject), you will have the choice to either take up law or drop it altogether.
