How is Applied Science University of Germany as compared to the technical universities?

There are two types of universities in Germany. One is applied sciences called as TU universities are more research-based universities and FH are more industry based universities which readily prepares the student for the industry based jobs. TU is preferable for students who want to pursue Ph.D and
