How is B.Arch at LPU?

As per the best of my knowledge, B.Arch is a good choice to do at LPU. My friend's sister is pursuing the B.Arch at LPU. The Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam) for B.Arch is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 with English and also 60% marks in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics or Pass with 60% in Diploma (any stream) (3 years) recognised by Central/ State government. (with Mathematics) or equivalent, subject to qualifying marks in NATA 2021 or JEE Main (Paper-II) (90 percentile or above) or qualifying marks in any specially designed aptitude test in Architecture conducted by the competent authority of the Central/ State Governments (as/ if allowed by the statutory body for 2021-22). B.Arch is one of the much sought after programmes at LPU. They have an eligibility criteria which one needs to fulfill. The faculty of the department is a team of trained professionals who have studied at top universities of the country and have worked with industrial giants or are equipped with academic excellence. Everything about faculty is mentioned in the website. Its said Architects shape the future of the building environment, from buildings to neighborhoods to cities to regions and LPU shapes the architects. The course design is cutting edge. It deals with topics like comprehend design approach and inter-relationship of function, circulation, structure, material and construction, climatology, services, form, aesthetics he knowledge in built environment. Interpret the facet of architectural design and urban realm context through schematic drawings, project report, physical model and 3 D visualizations. Analyze and appraise through research, various aspects of anthropometry, building technology, materials, structural analysis and design, history, art, culture, humanities, landscape, assessment methods, architectural computation and management of resources. B.Arch at LPU is a good choice based on my own personal experience. The faculty is very experienced and highly educated. In the programme, innovative teaching practices are adopted. One such practice is called Experiential learning week which is organized every semester in which students are taken to nearby historic and construction sites and are given live case studies to do. In design studios, the professors encourage students to take challenging and practical design problems. There is a rich culture of internships for final year students who go for very challenging and top placements nationally as well as internationally through department. The department is actively working to arrange internships by making a cluster of architectural and consultant firms with them. Most importantly they are recognised by the Council of Architecture (COA). Their curriculum comprises of Live Projects, Study tour to overseas projects, they follow collaborative learning with Industries. Tie ups with industry Content delivery by industry experts Projects in collaboration with industry Internships to engage deeply in hands on real-life situations Placements of the department also shows promising results. Based on my own experience, LPU's B.Arch programme is a good fit. The faculty has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Innovative teaching methods are used throughout the programme. Students are brought to adjacent historic and building sites and given live case studies to complete during Experiential Learning Week, which is held every semester. Professors urge students to tackle difficult and practical design problems in design studios. Final-year students have a rich culture of internships, with many demanding and top placements available both nationally and abroad through the department. By forming a network of architectural and consulting firms, the department is actively trying to arrange internships. They are, above all, recognised by the Council of Architecture (COA). Live Projects, Study Tours to Overseas Projects, and Collaborative Learning with Industries are all part of their curriculum. The Architecture Programmes at LPU are approved by the Council of Architecture (COA), a statutory body of the Government of India for the regulation of the architectural education and practice of profession as required. There is a different school for B.Arch I. e. School of Architecture that provides different programme outcomes from basic to advanced one. The School inculcates practical implications and goes beyond conceptual understanding. The programme is structured in five groups taking care of every dimension of the growing and ever-changing design industry viz. Core Courses, Supporting Courses, Skill Development Courses, Management Courses, Elective Courses. The curriculum is benchmarked against the most renowned institutions of the world and is further strengthened through live design projects which help thorough assimilation of theoretical concepts. The focus is on application-oriented teaching with live architecture design projects, extensive models,s and fieldwork. LPU believes in providing real-life exposure instead of just book knowledge. Students are exposed to real site situations through in-house and external visits for visual orientation. Emphasis is given to the Entrepreneurship projects/Consultancy projects which give a cutting edge to the students of the University. The Faculty deputed to teach the students is very supportive and takes initiative to involve the students in projects for maximum exposure. The highest package last year was 7.44 LPA and the average was 5.6 LPA. Last but not least, the career prospects of this course if studied at LPU will open your doors to the government. B.Arch is a 5-year course that students divided into 10 semesters. This course ISC O. A approved professional degree. In this students get the information about Design Thinking and development, skill development, engineering knowledge, and individual and teamwork.
