How is B.Tech Biotechnology at LPU?

Any student who is contemplating pursuing a career in Biotechnology must be aware that this field is still developing in India. Therefore, the number of job openings and pay packages are both very low when compared with the IT and CS fields. After having a B.Tech degree from LPU in biotech. , students can find jobs in pharmaceutical companies, research labs, and institutions in India. However, most Indian students tend to go abroad to pursue their Masters or doctorate studies in Biotechnology and allied fields. Some students also shift to MBA and enter the world of business, finance, and banking as their engineering background gives them the required quantitative skills to excel in these sectors. Also, many students shift to software through on-campus placements. The LPU Biotech students have a vast scope as they can work in sectors of pharmaceuticals, agriculture, healthcare, food processing, nutrition, animal Science, and environmental conservation. There are many colleges and universities which are providing this course but It will be advisable if you do your degree from a well-known university like LPU and that provides prime placement opportunity, outstanding exposure, and professional enhancement training. Since this field is highly research-oriented, vast, and diverse, it is highly recommended that students pursue their graduate studies in Biotechnology at LPU, Biomedical Sciences, Biological sciences, Bioprocess Engineering, etc. LPU provides ample opportunities to each and every one of eligible students to secure good placement. The university has been ranked high by foreign agencies also with regard to placements of our students. Several big brands of the industry have visited the LPU campus during a recent academic session for campus placements like Cent, E-litmus, Alwar and Alwar Consultants, Roots Analysis Private Limited, etc. LPU students have also availed opportunities of Placements in government services like the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Transport Corporation of India, etc. Through on-campus/off-campus placement drives and SSB Interviews. Biotechnology is not about Biology it also encircles Chemistry Physics Maths and information technology. Moreover, it's an amalgamation of technology with the above streams through which we exploit microorganisms for the betterment of homo sapiens. Since B.Tech is a 4-year course which is equivalent to engineering. , It provides more hands-on experience, with their respective domains and specialisation. Major institutions like IIT's, MIT, SRM, VIT, AMITY, LPU, and many more provide B.Tech options While, B.Sc. Is a three-year degree, more theoretical less practical knowledge, even a Diploma holder will have more practical knowledge than B.Sc. Pass out. I personally believe you should go for B.Tech and also LPU would be the best for you in my opinion based on the following points. 1. LPU school of biotechnology provides an ultimate learning experience with a commitment to innovation. Various guest lectures from experts and field visits are organized by the school. 2. The school encourages R & D activities for students to get the benefit. Many students from LPU have successfully collaborated with foreign universities and research institutions. The dept. Also inculcates entrepreneurship opportunities to build job providers of the future. 3. Instill advanced knowledge in the major areas of Biotechnology such as Animal Tissue Culture, Plant Tissue Culture, Microbiology, Genetics an Bioinformatics. 4. Training, projects, and guest lectures collaborated with industries help to learn from real-life situations. 5. Seminar and Project driven courses are designed to enhance technical and presentation skills. 6. Minor elective gives the students a choice to develop expertise in the interdisciplinary areas of interest, for example, CSE/IT, Management and ECE. 7. Curriculum is equipped with 21st-century digital technologies for lead optimization and drug designing. In addition to core curricula, the course offers subjects like communication, analytical and soft skills to enhance personality and employability. 8. The curriculum has been designed in such a way that it makes it easier for the students to prepare themselves for giant exams like CSIR NET ICMR, ICAR, and GATE. Being an alumnae from Biotechnology division itself I can very well vouch of the curriculum, pedagogy and exponential opportunity one gets in B.Tech Biotechnology from LPU no where you can get. I would like to pin few reasons why:- 1.
