How is BIT, Mesra in terms of placement for core companies? How is the research at college?

Placement in core companies in BIT-Mesra varies from branch to branch. As for circuital branches (CS, IT, ECE, EEE) the placements in core branches are very good. A lot of companies from different places visit campus for the placement drives and almost 100% students get placed in circuital branches. Some students also secure more than one placements in these sections. However, talking of non-circuital branches (Mech, Civil, Chemical, Biotech), only few core companies visit campus. The number has increased this year, but not a very satisfactory level. Students seeking core placements mostly depend upon GATE. Still, the core companies visiting the campus take a number of students with them, the numbers can be improved. Students in non-circuital branches mostly get placed into the consultancies, marketing companies, banks, etc. Also, core companies like Reliance, Vedanta, Unilever, Maruti Suzuki, HINDALCO, JUSCO, L&T, etc visit the campus. Lot of pharmaceutical and food industry related companies also organize their placement drive in the campus. Overall, for non-circuital students, there exist substantial options. Hope this helps.
