A Parliament Act established Tamil Nadu's Central University in 2009, India's most prestigious university. National Institution Rank Framework, NIRF, placed it among 51 Indian universities in 2002.It is situated in Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, India. By the government of Tamil Nadu this university got 516.67 acers of land in 2 revenue village (Neelakudu and Nagakudi). At Neelakudi village is has its academic campus of 412.03 acres and residential campus in Nagakudi village of 104.73 acres. And overall this university comes under rural area.
