    For every given semester, a student's SGPA (Semester Performance Index) or CGPA (Cumulative Performance Index) is calculated using the methods below:

    The number of points equivalent to the grade awarded in each course for which the student has registered is multiplied by the unit rating.

    The amount is multiplied by the overall number of units once all of these items have been added together.

    The ratio is either the SPI or CPI, depending on whether the number of units refers to those in that particular semester or to those over the duration of the student's postgraduate career.
