An "A" grade, for instance, might be given 8 or 80 Grade Points, a "B" grade, 7, or 70 Grade Points, and so on.Grade Points and Credit Hours                                  Each course's credit hours are multiplied by the Grade Points that were obtained for that course. This provides the course's Quality Points (QP). For instance, if a student receives a "A" (10 Grade Points) in a course with three credits, that course's Quality Points would be 10 x 3 = 30. Total Credit Hours and Quality Points                                      The Quality Points obtained in all of the courses throughout all of the semesters are added up to determine the Total Quality Points (TQP). The Total Credit Hours (TCH) measure the total number of credits earned across all courses taken.Calculation of CGPA                                    Total Quality Points (TQP) divided by Total Credit Hours (TCH) yields the cumulative grade point average, or CGPA. To represent the CGPA, the result is often rounded to two decimal places. For instance, if a student has finished 80 credit hours (TCH) and achieved a total of 250 Quality Points (TQP), the CGPA would be computed as follows: CGPA = TQP/TCH = 250/80 = 3.13 (rounded to two decimal places).
