    Each course is assigned a credit value, which represents the weightage of the course. The credit value is typically based on the number of hours of instruction per week for the course. Each course is also assigned a letter grade based on the student's performance in the course. The letter grades and the corresponding grade points are as follows:

    B+: 8
    B: 7
    C+: 6
    C: 5
    D: 4
