How is college life at Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai Campus?

According to a few students, there is no life in college, as you feel totally alienated. Lots of restrictions and rules along with academic downfalls all add up to depression. Unless you find your troops it's really hard to survive here. You will not be allowed to go out or out of your hostel post 9

I found the life here to be prison-like. The First year students have a LOT of restrictions. There is no way in * the security guards will let you go outside the campus during the weekdays.
