They do seem to be a very well-versed and academic crowd. They do have a lot of moot courts, debates and MUN and keep doing inter-college events.

As far as law school is concerned, there are only a few colleges which are good. NLUs are the best. Not all but 6 to 8. CLAT and AILET should be your focus if you are serious about the law. Apart from NLUs, Jindal Global Law School is also good if you can afford the fees. All other colleges are not
